Years ago, we needed a way to run ideation sessions that did not collapse under their own weight. The tools available then asked participants to register, log in, and learn an interface before they could contribute a single thought. In a two-hour workshop, that overhead is not a minor annoyance. It is the difference between a room full of contributors and a room full of spectators.
So we built our own. Idea Wall turned into a product, and over the following years, thousands of people used it in more than ten countries—in workshops, at events, and in projects that never got everyone into the same room.
Why we rebuilt it
Technology moves, and interface conventions move faster, and Idea Wall needed an update. Rather than patch it, we rebuilt the product on current technology. It has a new name, IdeaMinit, and one deliberately unchanged quality: a participant still gets a link, opens it in a browser, and adds an idea within seconds. No installation, no account.
What is different
Boards are now multilingual, with the language set per board. An organization can run internal boards in Finnish and partner boards in English from the same application.
Board content exports as CSV or JSON. The JSON preserves the structure of ideas, comments, and categories, so AI-assisted analysis can follow the discussion rather than just count the cards. For anyone who has stared at four hundred sticky notes wondering how to summarise them for a steering group, this is the part that matters.
We also changed how the product is delivered. Each customer gets a dedicated application with its own database on a server in the EU, matched to their brand. Your session data does not sit in a shared table alongside everyone else’s. In Finnish public sector and enterprise procurement, that distinction tends to come up early.
We are inviting a limited number of beta testers
The rebuilt IdeaMinit is now in beta, and we are looking for a small number of organizations to use it on real sessions rather than test scenarios.
Beta testers get their own instance, not a single demo board, so the whole picture is available: multiple boards, access codes, languages, and the admin side. We set up your first board with you and stay available while you run it. In return, we want honest feedback, including what annoys you.
We are keeping the group deliberately small so that every tester gets attention and every piece of feedback gets acted on.
